Bermondsey Street
Bermondsey Street is a long thoroughfare starting at
Tooley Street in the north, running beneath all the tracks of London
Bridge Station, then largely south-easterly turning southerly by St
Mary Magdalen churchyard to the south, close to Tower Bridge Road. And,
yes, there really is (in 2024) a place of refreshment at no. 161 called
'F*ckoffee' – sadly, for reasons of good taste we are unable to show
this piece of lettering.
London Bridge Station
David Gaylard writes: 'I had lunch at the Woolpack pub
here and had a walk before. I hadn't noticed how ornate the arches were
on the London Bridge station side. You can see where one has been
carefully repaired and the modern stonemason has added a snake's
head on top.

St Mary Magdalen Church
David continues: 'Finally, a carved sign on the church
of St Mary. I love
how the time has been added - you can imagine the conversation with the
man...'
